Children In The Middle

This group is a series of one-hour sessions based on the Children in the Middle group. It is a 6-week counseling group based on a nationally known and evidence-based curriculum for children ages 6-12 years old, whose parents are in any stage of the divorce process.  The group provides the children with a safe place to explore and process their feelings and develop healthy ways of coping with their parents’ divorce.  Therapeutic activities include connecting with other children experiencing divorce, watching videos, reading, writing, and sharing.

Therapeutic Goals Include:

• Recognition that the divorce is not the child’s fault.
• Dispelling common myths children have about divorce.
• Understanding and processing feelings and fears
• Learning the myths and truths about divorce
• Developing healthy skills to cope with divorce
